In the Mahabharata, Krishna sounds the Panchajanya at the start of the great war, and the Bhagavad Gita remembers it as a call to righteous action. Tradition also tells how Krishna won this conch from the sea-demon Panchajana, after bringing back his teacher's lost son. For devotees, the name stands for courage, duty and faith in the divine.

At 3 to 5 inches and only 20 to 30 gm, this shankh is light and easy to place in a home mandir or on a small altar. Because each shell is formed by nature, size, shape and markings differ slightly, and your piece is truly one of a kind. Handle it gently, as the shell is thin.

How to Use

Wipe the shankh gently with a soft, clean cloth. Do not use soap or harsh chemicals.
Place it on a clean yellow or white cloth in your pooja room, beside the Vishnu or Krishna murti.
Light a diya and incense, then offer a tulsi leaf and a few drops of Gangajal.
Chant "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" and keep the shankh in its place with devotion
