Description

Shrijap.com Presents the Vamavarti Pani Shankh, a fuller, more generous conch of the species Turbinella pyrum, made for offering sacred water with grace. Its milk-white body is round and glossy, tapering into a long, pointed tail that helps guide the flow. At the other end, stepped spiral rings rise to a small opening, and fine brown markings around the tip show that this is a real sea shell shaped by nature.

At 5 to 5.5 inches and 300 to 320 gm, this shankh has a pleasing weight in the hand. It suits the abhishek of larger murtis, and it also looks dignified on the altar during aarti. As per tradition, shankh water is offered to Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi and Laddu Gopal, and it is not used for Lord Shiva's abhishek.

How to Use

Rinse the shankh gently in clean water or Gangajal. Do not use soap or harsh chemicals.
Fill it with clean water, Gangajal or panchamrit, as your family tradition suggests.
Light a diya, chant the deity's mantra, then pour slowly over the murti.
After pooja, rinse, dry and keep it on a clean cloth in your mandir, never on the floor.
