Shrijap.com Presents the Vamavarti Pani Shankh, a grand, natural conch of the species Turbinella pyrum, chosen for those who want a shankh with true devotional weight. At 6 inches and 390 to 450 gm, it is the largest in our pani shankh collection, with a deep, roomy hollow that holds plenty of sacred water. It is a worthy centrepiece for the abhishek of larger murtis and for long, unhurried pooja.

Its spiral form follows the natural shape of the sea shell, and its tapering end guides water in a smooth, steady flow. On the altar during aarti, it brings a calm and dignified presence. As per tradition, shankh water is offered to Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi and Laddu Gopal, and it is not used for Lord Shiva's abhishek.

Because each shankh is formed by nature, weight varies from 390 to 450 gm, so a lighter or sturdier piece may reach you. Size, shape and markings also differ slightly, which makes yours one of a kind. Keep it as a shankh for pooja beside your kalash and diya, or gift it for housewarmings and festivals such as Janmashtami and Diwali.

How to Use

Rinse the shankh gently in clean water or Gangajal. Do not use soap or harsh chemicals.
Fill it with clean water, Gangajal or panchamrit, as your family tradition suggests.
Light a diya, chant the deity's mantra, then pour slowly over the murti.
After pooja, rinse, dry and keep it on a clean cloth in your mandir, never on the floor.
